2021 Drive-Thru Fall Festival at the Lourie Center

CALLING ALL SENIOR SERVICES AND BUSINESSES:
The Lourie Center’s Annual Fall Festival is Coming Back!

The Lourie Center will host our annual Fall Festival on October 29, 9 am – 12 pm and we want you to be a part of the fun!  We will be keeping the socially-distant format for the safety of our community.  For the second time ever, the Lourie Center Fall Festival will be a DRIVE-THRU experience.  Please mark your calendars, share the news, and plan to attend.

The plan is to have festival guests slowly drive their cars through a guided, carefully designated area in our upper parking lot, which will be set with awesome music, festive decor, and plenty of business banners and signs. Festival guests will remain in their cars. This is a contact-free event.

 

The Lourie Center invites senior services and businesses in the Midlands to register as a vendor or sponsor. The Fall Festival is a great opportunity for your business to show support for the senior community and gain some extra visibility.

The 2021 theme is “Hooray for Hollywood!” Come dressed as your favorite film star, icon, or character from any era. The business displays and festival entertainment will be set up along both sides of the Drive-Thru lane. We will all be socially distanced, and will wave, cheer, dance, and show off our “Hooray for Hollywood!” costumes. Costumes are optional but really add a fun flair for our guests. Bring your fun or glamourous costumes, floor banners, a camp chair, and help make the 2021 Drive-thru Fall Festival one to remember. 

Executive Director Sandra Owensby encourages you all to “Discover the Lourie Center in a fun and safe way again this year. A Drive-thru festival is a meaningful experience for all of us. As always, the Fall Festival will be a spotlight on the many community resources available for seniors.”

Is the event free and open to the public? YES!

We will invite all Midlands seniors (as well as those who have aging parents) to drive-thru the festival. Families are also welcome.

Is it fun and informative? YES!

Featuring local senior services and businesses? YES!

Health screenings? NO

Flu Shots? NO

An assortment of entertainment? YES!

Our “Hooray for Hollywood!” theme will set the tone for a visually and musically entertaining spectacle. Stay tuned for more details.

Lots of free stuff given out to guests? YES, BUT!

We are planning to distribute individual Swag Bags to guests as a parting gift on their way out of the Drive-Thru festival. We will collect your business information (business cards, coupons, brochures) and your best premium swag marketing items (think t-shirts, tote bags, pens, hats) PLUS- instead of the traditional door prizes, we hope to include lots of surprise gift cards tucked inside, maybe even some high dollar cards. The bags will be part of the incentive to attend. Not all bags will be identical, so the luck is in the draw.

Instead of a free lunch for our festival guests, we are hoping to secure some high value or BOGO coupons to local drive-thru restaurants.

$99 Senior Service Vendor (Early bird rate until October 1, $125-After October 1)

Vendor Details:

  • On or before Thursday October 21: Provide 150+ marketing items for distribution in the Mega Swag Bag, a door prize ($20 or more total value, please. Gift cards preferred), plus optional promotional brochures/business cards.
  • Vendor space set-up is from 7-9 am on October 29.
  • Optional: Come dressed in a “Hooray for Hollywood!” Halloween costume, bring your floor banners and/or decorations for your space, camp chair, etc. No tables or electricity provided.
  • No refunds will be made for cancellations after October 1, 2020

*SWAG BAG DETAILS: The marketing items will be collected up until October 21. Bags will be assembled by our team a week prior to the festival.  We will have a maximum 150 bags available, one per person (seniors only).
