COLUMBIA, SC-The Lourie Center will host its annual Fall Festival on October 30 and we want you to be a part of the fun! We will be making some BIG changes this year to adapt to the “new normal” and allow for social distancing. For the first time ever, the Lourie Center Fall Festival will be an outdoor, DRIVE-THRU experience. The event is free and open to all seniors.
Come cruise! Festival guests will slowly drive their cars through a short, carefully guided area in our upper parking lot, which will be set with awesome music with DJ Rick Wrigley, costumed characters, festive decor, and plenty of business banners and signs. Festival guests will remain in their cars. This is a contact-free event.
The 2020 theme is “Rockin’ Halloween”. Joe Pinner will be the event MC, Elvis sightings will abound, and we will be dressed as our favorite Rock ‘n Roll musicians for your entertainment! Business displays and festival entertainment will be set up in the parking lot along both sides of the Drive-thru lane. We will all be socially distanced, and will wave, cheer, dance, and show off our Rockin’ Halloween costumes. At the festival exit, guests will be presented with a Mega Swag bag, containing senior resources and information, branded marketing items, and door prize gift cards! *One bag per person. While supplies last.
Lourie Center Executive Director Sandra Owensby encourages us all to “discover the Lourie Center in a fun yet socially-distant way this year. A Drive-Thru Festival is a brand-new experience for all of us. As always, the Fall Festival will be a spotlight on the many community resources available for seniors.”
THE EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO ALL SENIOR CITIZENS. The Fall Festival is the center’s annual fundraiser. Thank you for supporting the businesses that support the Fall Festival and the Lourie Center. We look forward to having you with us on October 30!
